A New Multi-Input Multi-output DC-DC Bidirectional Converter with MPPT Control Applicable for PV

Seyed Hossein Hosseini, Zahra Saadatizadeh, Pedram Chavoshipour Heris(University of Tabriz, Iran, Islamic Republic of)

In this paper, a non-isolated multiport bidirectional dc-dc converter is proposed. Since the proposed converter is multiport, the reliability of the proposed converter in sensitive load applications is high. Due to the input current sharing among the paths, the current passes through the semiconductor components is divided with a specific ratio in the primary side of the converter, then, the related losses are decreased significantly. The conversion ratio of the proposed converter is better than the buck-boost converters with cascaded or series topologies. The input current ripple of the propo

Development of Predictive Control System Using Just-In-Time Modeling and Enthalpy-Aware Control in Air Conditioners for Large-Scale Data Center

Hiroshi Endo, Shigeto Suzuki(Fujitsu laboratories Ltd., Japan), Hiroyoshi Kodama(Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd., Japan), Takeshi Hatanaka(Osaka University, Japan), Hiroyuki Fukuda(Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd., Japan), Masayuki Fujita(Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan)

In this research, we propose an energy-efficient predictive control system with outside-air-introduced-type air conditioner in large-scale data center. We propose to use a dynamic model construction technique called just-in-time modeling and to use a control algorithm that utilizes air enthalpy. We introduced this predictive control system to a large-scale data center and had verified the improvement in the energy-saving performance for few month. we demonstrated that the power consumption of the DC room was significantly reduced by 28.9%.

Maximum Power Point Tracking Control for Photovoltaic Generation Using Quasi-Continuous Sliding Mode Control

Yoonmo Sung(Hanyang University, Korea), Chunghun Kim(Kyungpook University, Korea), Chung Choo Chung(Hanyang University, Korea)

This paper proposes a quasi-continuous sliding mode control for maximizing the power production of photovoltaic generation. The admittance-based maximum power tracking method is used for obtaining a reference and quasi-continuous sliding mode control is used for mitigating the chattering behavior to help Maximum power point tracking performance and its reliability. From simulation study using MATLAB/Simulink, we validated that the proposed method outperforms the previous method.

A Design of Automated Inspections of Both Shape and Height Simultaneously Based on Stereo Vision and PLC

Wittaya Koodtalang, Thaksin Sangsuwan, Burapa Noppakaow(King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Thailand)

This paper presents the design and implementation of an automatic inspection system for parts rejection in a manufacturing process, where parts are the short pieces of circle- and square-pipes. The designed model is based on a stereo vision and programmable logic controller (PLC). Both shape classification and height measurement of the parts can be achieved simultaneously with a stereo vision. The experimental result shows good synchronization between Raspberry Pi and PLC (Siemens S7-1200). The accuracy of shape classification is more than 98% and the error of height measurement is than ±1mm.

Research on Vibration Characteristics of Spur Gear System with Pitting Fault Considering the Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication Condition Chunlong Deng, Yimin Shao, Hongling Zheng(Chongqing University,China) Minggang Du, Yang Yang(China North Vehicle Research Institute,China) Pitting fault is easily observed in gear system, dynamics models are commonly established to study the vibration characteristics affected by pitting fault. However, most of the dynamics models ignore the elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) in gear system, which plays an important role in early fatigue failure of gears...
